Interlibrary Loan

Information about borrowing books from other libraries through the Perry Public Library interlibrary loan service.

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation.  When you are looking for an item that is not in the Perry Public Library collection, we may be able to borrow the item for you through Interlibrary Loan.  Types of material that other libraries will send us include:

  • Books in regular or large print formats
  • Audiobooks on tape or CD
  • DVD or VHS Movies and TV series
  • Magazine articles
  • Newspaper articles
  • Microfilm census records

There is a limit of three interlibrary loan requests per patron at one time. To request an item on interlibrary loan: 

  1. Fill out a form online.  ($1 payable when you pick up your book)
  2. Fill out a form at the Circulation Desk.  ($1 payable at the time you place an order)
  3. Telephone the Library at 465-3569.  ($1 payable when you pick up your book)
As of July 1, 2009, the Library will charge $1.00 for each item acquired via Interlibrary loan.  Additionally, you must pick up the item(s) that you requested or there is a $5.00 service charge.  Materials typically arrive within three to seven days.  Items may be kept for two weeks.   There is a $1.00 fee per day per item for overdue Interlibrary loan materials.
