Computers in Libraries Conference

Jill and Ginnie in Washington, DC

In early April, librarians Ginnie Peters and Jill Cook attended a conference in Washington D.C., sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  The Computers in Libraries Conference is in its 23rd year and is the most comprehensive conference of its type in North America, focusing on emerging software and hardware technologies and their practical applications for libraries of all sizes.  Thanks to the Gates Foundation monies, 72 Iowa librarians were able to attend this conference and experience the latest in technological library trends.  The conference was attended by more than 2200 librarians from all over the country, as well as Australia, the Netherlands, England, Japan, Qatar,
Mexico, and Canada.
